Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water

In November 2022, CBR Recruitment was engaged by the Department of Climate Change Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW) under “The People Panel, Phase 1” to support a bulk EL1 recruitment process where in excess of 80 applications had been received. CBR Recruitment conducted the initial shortlisting against the selection criteria, undertook the interview scheduling, coordinated a written exercise which shortlisted candidates completed, provided a venue for the interviews, conducted reference reports, finalised the Selection Report and uploaded the candidate outcomes into the Department’s recruitment system. Due to the short turnaround required to complete the process, CBR Recruitment managed the process from its corporate headquarters in the Canberra CBD and assigned a team of HR specialists to support the recruitment process, which was  finalised in record time, over the Christmas shutdown period, and enabled offers to be made to suitable applicants within 6 weeks of the position closing.

“Thanks again to you and the team for supporting us and meeting all our short timeframes and expectations”. Julie Kennett, Director, North WA Section

Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation

In October 2022 CBR Recruitment had the privilege of working with high profile Canberra charity, The Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation to recruit a Marketing Officer. This was a new position within the team, which had a focus on building awareness and the profile of the foundation. As part of the recruitment process, CBR Recruitment initially conducted position benchmarking, provided advice on not-for-profit salary packaging benefits, developed an advertising campaign, and undertook competency-based interviews where candidates were initially assessed on their overall suitability for the role, based on technical skills, personal values, and fit. CBR Recruitment then facilitated formal panel interviews where the foundation’s CEO and one of the company’s recruitment specialists interviewed shortlisted candidates against the key competencies of the role. Following the interviews CBR Recruitment conducted position specific reference reports and then managed the onboarding process of the preferred candidate.

“I am really excited to have an outstanding marketing person on board to help spread the word about the important work of our foundation”. Suz Tunks, CEO and Founder

Australian National University – PARSA

In April of 2021, CBR Recruitment was approached by the ANU Postgraduate and Research Students’ Association (PARSA) to recruit a number of key roles concurrently due to an organisational restructure. The roles included a General Manager, a Student Assistance Adviser, a Communications and Events Director, a Finance Administrator and a Business Support Assistant. CBR Recruitment conducted an in-depth talent sourcing campaign, coordinated initial and formal interviews, undertook reference reports and background checks, negotiated the offers and managed the onboarding process for the preferred candidates, who were initially engaged on fixed term contracts. CBR Recruitment also managed the payroll and employment obligations of each of the candidates through the duration of their contracts and based on their performance they were all subsequently appointed to PARSA on a permanent basis.  Due to the success of this recruitment process PARSA was able to manage a period of significant organisational change, while also engaging a number of outstanding staff to support the Board and its members.

“You did a great job recruiting these roles that PARSA is now going to employ all candidates directly. We are very satisfied with the service we received from CBR Recruitment” Jane Brownbill, General Manager
