Position Overview:
We are seeking a Communications Officer who will create and deliver communication material and activities that communicate to stakeholders what FRDC does and how its investment in RD&E underpins current practice and future opportunities to solve problems for the fishing and aquaculture sectors and the community. Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, responsibilities include:
- Assisting the communications area to provide a range of communication services to FRDC staff and stakeholders including assisting project managers develop project material (stories, publications, media articles), publications, digital/social media content and collateral.
- Fostering relationships and engaging with stakeholders.
- Delivering a range of communication and engagement activities. For example, writing material for articles, publications and digital media platforms based on scientific evidence and research.
- Website and CRM management.
- Coordinating a range of events and workshops, and
- Assisting in the day-to-day running of the Stakeholder Engagement team.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong content production skills and experience.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Persuasive writing skills with competence in tailoring messaging to specific audiences.
- High level interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong technical proficiency.
- Australian citizenship.

About the role:
As a Construction Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-accuracy surveying services for a variety of civil, high-rise, and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project teams, using advanced surveying technology and software to ensure all measurements and reports meet industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering and construction surveys across diverse project sites.
- Use 12d, AutoCAD, and other industry software to manage and interpret survey data across large-scale civil infrastructure, high-rise developments, and cadastral projects, ensuring precision and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards.
- Work independently on-site, liaising with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Prepare and deliver accurate reports, plans, and calculations to stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of modern surveying equipment and best practices.
- Provide technical advice and problem-solving support to the broader project team.
What you will need:
- A Diploma in Surveying (or a higher qualification).
- Proven experience in engineering and construction surveying.
- Competence with surveying software such as 12d and AutoCAD.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with project teams and clients.
- A valid Australian driver’s license and full working rights within Australia.

Senior Project Officer – Rheumatic Heart Disease

CBR Recruitment is delighted to be working with the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) to recruit a Senior Project Officer, to the Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Team. NACCHO is the national peak body representing 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and the lead advisor to the Commonwealth Government on primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally. NACCHO is coordinating the implementation of an innovative model of care to contribute to the eradication of new cases of Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
Position Overview:
The Senior Project Officer, RHD role is responsible for contributing to the Echo in ACCHOs Project. This project aims to strengthen the capacity of primary healthcare workers in the ACCHO sector to deliver equitable echocardiography services that better meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at risk of, or living with, ARF/RHD. This role would be well suited to someone with a clinical background who has strong project management capabilities and an interest in supporting the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s access to primary health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project management, including preparing reports, discussion papers, and briefs.
- Researching and collating information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
- Coordinating training workshops.
- Providing project support.
- Analysing feedback and reports to inform development and delivery.
- Facilitating communication with key stakeholders, including clinical governance groups, and other ACCHOs.
- Other duties as requested.
The skills and experience we are seeking:
- Demonstrated program, project, and/or policy experience.
- Confidence in coordinating and managing a range of tasks.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and analytically, show initiative and sound judgement.
- Strong skills in cross cultural communication and relationship management.
- Experience in a similar culturally safe primary health care setting would be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications are also highly desirable.

The role oversees a small team tasked with the development and delivery of key Rheumatic Heart Disease related program and policy initiatives. The role is responsible for timely, accurate and persuasive policy and program advice and recommendations, underpinned by evidence and analysis, contextual awareness, including the policy environment and stakeholder consultation. This role will be suited to someone with experience in a similar organisation and in managing staff and teams, with a background in public, social, or health policy or programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and government organisations.
- Representing NACCHO at meetings, conferences, seminars, and publicly.
- Undertaking data analysis, research, and broader planning and delivery.
- Preparing project reports and workforce training materials.
- Supervising and supporting the NACCHO Rheumatic Heart Disease Team.
- Leading secretariat duties to support the work of the Rheumatic Heart Disease Expert Working Group and other governance committees as required.
